MCC Summer Update

Hello fellow curlers, the Misoula Curling Club hopes everyone is enjoying their time away from the ice. This email will serve as a summer update to what is going on in our curling world.

1. MCC board has been meeting and has preliminary dates for the upcoming season. There will be 2 seasons of curling. We will be running games that are 8 ends in each season. There will be league playoff Bonspiel again for our winter season.
2. The 2nd Annual Zootown Bonspiel will be our second bonspeil. This will be open to all out of town teams.
3. Butte Montana is going to be leasing to own our Neville rocks…. the older set… and MCC will be acquiring 2 new sets of rocks later this summer. Also around the state you will see Billings getting a program up and running. Butte will have ice this summer so keep an eye out for some updates on curling ice before our November start date. 4.MCC is looking for intrested curlers at getting certified as “Curling Instructors” Below are some updates on how to do this.

Westminster California:
The Orange County Curling Club will be hosting a USCA Level I Instructor’s Course on Saturday, July 23rd from 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm. This class is intended for curlers who have the fundamentals down and want to learn how to share that knowledge with novice curlers.
The cost is $40 for USCA paid members. $75 for Non United States Curling Association members. Please, Cash or Checks only. Make checks payable to: Orange County Curling Club.
New instructors will be given the latest information from the USCA on teaching new curlers the basic fundamentals of curling. In addition to the 3 ½ -4 hours of classroom training, the new instructors will teach a Learn to Curl class that evening as part of the course. The Learn to Curl is from 7-9pm.

6. MCC will be an official Non-Profit this upcoming season and would love to hear your ideas on how we can help fundraise to keep our ice costs down and keep ourselves self-sufficient.
