Winter 2014-15 Plans Unveiled

Curling_stones_on_rink_with_visible_pebbleEven though its summer, Winter Curling is getting closer so it’s time to get your teams organized.

In a couple weeks we will be posting the registration form for the league — and based on what we have heard from folks, you’ll be able to fill out the form and pay online this year.

League may fill quickly this year so sign up early. We are planning on a minimum of 20 teams and a maximum of 40 teams this year.

The 2014-2015 Winter Curling League will consist of 7 nights of play for each team plus two nights of playoffs with one game guaranteed (depending on the number of teams that sign up and how well the team does during playoffs) and will start November 8 and end February 28, 2015 at the outdoor rink at the Glacier Ice Rink.

The winter league will be curling Saturday nights from 9:00pm to 12:00 midnight. The league is for all curlers of all talents.

There will be three divisions in the league – competitive, recreational, and instructional. The competitive division is for seasoned curlers wanting to play competitive games, while the recreational division is for those who want a less stressful curling experience or are still learning the game. The instructional division is for those people would wish to learn to curl during the first three weeks and then want to eventually play in the recreational division after the first three weeks or add another 3 weeks of instructional league (please indicate on the form now if you wish to curl 6 weeks).

Each game is 6 ends lasting 90 minutes. Teams will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

League Fee: This year we are asking for $450.00 per team to cover ice time; $50 less than last year. Another $80 per person is needed to cover Missoula Curling Club membership and insurance premiums.

Each person can get $25 of the $80 refunded to reward service. There are so many tasks that need to be done by the MCC each week that we desperately need volunteers. This year we are soliciting help from the members in the form of a membership refund.

We will be posting complete details of the MCC volunteer program on the site in the next month.

Deadline: Sunday November 1, 2014, but subject to change depending on number of teams registered. Check the website for any changes to the deadline date.

Registration: We strongly encourage teams to register via the Missoula Curling Club website ( and pay the fee via PayPal. However, you can pay by check if you send the check and completed registration form below to Missoula Curling Club, P.O. Box 5523, Missoula, MT 59806.

Please email if you have any questions.
