Winter Season Starts with Social, Free Curling

Seriously… look how pretty the ice looks for this season. The houses are in and we are ready to curl.

It’s been a great fall for the Club. We had about 100 people come out to two learn-to-curls in October and are ramping up plans for the winter season.

So, let’s party!

We have decided to change the plans for the start of the season to have a bit more social time and also invite in last-minute people thinking about curling this season.

Here’s the plan.

The partying starts WEDNESDAY, NOV. 5. from 5-8 p.m. at the Northside KettleHouse we will be hosting a Community UNite. The happy hour(s) is a chance to catch up with people AND raise money for the club. For every pint sold during that time $.50 will be donated to the club. So come out and support the club and have a few pints.

But that’s not all.

So Saturday was set to be the beginning of the league, but we have a few teams still organizing (get your registrations in!) and we look like we may get 28 teams out there curling (plus two instructional league teams).

So we are moving the start of the season back a week to Nov. 15. Instead on Nov. 8 from 9-10:30 we will host an open house/social hour with free pizza, curling and beer.

That’s right… free pizza, curling and beer.

The Club will pay for the ice time and we will use it to welcome back old members and get new members excited about the season to come.

See you there.

We pushed the start of the season back a week and so we are lining up the last teams this week. I would look for a heads up by the end of the week and then we will have the big free curling event on Saturday. Hope to see you there and for signing up.
