Smokey the Bear, Hundreds Learn About Curling at Fair

"Only you can curl," says Smokey the Bear (I am not sure that is an exact quote).

A big thanks to the hundreds of people (and at least one bear) visited our booth at the Western Montana Fair last week.

We had 95 people sign up to find out about the learn-to-curls we are hosting in October and hundreds of people entered our contest to win t-shirts. Remember the Learn-to-Curls are October 17th and 24th from 6-8 p.m.

If you have not heard from us than we have some bad news — you didn’t win. The actual weight of the rock was 38.5 pounds. We were all a little surprised by that number as most curling stones weigh, as required by the World Curling Federation, between  38 and 44 pounds, a maximum circumference of 36 inches and a minimum height of 4.5 inches.

Things are starting to get going here for the fall season. Please put October 28 from 5-8 p.m. on your calendar. That day we will be hosting a Community UNite at the northside KettleHouse tap room. We will get 50 cents of ever pint sold during those hours so please come out and support the club (and have a beer).
