One team of Missoula curlers made the trek this past weekend up to Whitefish to participate in the Oktoberfest Bonspiel.
The event kicked off our fall season that we hope will see lots of your come out to try curling or to sign up for either our competitive or recreational leagues.
Here is a rundown of some of what’s on tap.
Oct. 2 from 5-10 pm: We will be at the “Pray for Snow” event at Caras Park to let people play some Wii Curling and raise awareness about our learn to curl events set for October.
Oct. 17 and 24 from 4-6 pm: We will be hosting two learn to curl events for newbies or those wanting to try the sport out. You can sign up here and get a 50% discount and if you are able to help show people the ropes, click here.
Oct. 28 from 5-8 pm: We will be raising money by drinking beer. That sounds good to me. At the Northside KettleHouse we will earn 50 cents of every pint served that night, so come out and meet the board members and see old friends from the ice. Bring some friends and come thirsty. We need money.
Nov. 14 at 9 pm: WINTER SEASON STARTS. So we have a couple of things going on to reduce the cost of curling in the league. Like last season we will have two leagues — one casual and one competitive — and a three-week newbie league that puts you on a team and gives you some advice from veterans as you play three games.
