We Need Your Help at Our Learn to Curls

On October 14 and 21 we will have learn-to-curl events at the indoor rink at Glacier Ice Rink. We hope to have dozens of new folks out there and the ice and so we need your help to make these events a success.

on our sheet here.

We need help setting up the ice, moving the stones, checking people in, helping people try the sport and cleaning up at the end.

Shifts will run from 3:30-6:15 on both days and these hours can count towards your membership dues rebate at the end of the year.

It only takes a second to
sign up to help.

Survey Shows Support for Dedicated Ice, Improved Times

Survey Shows Support for Dedicated Ice, Improved Times

The Missoula Curling Club has been working with the city, county, Glacier Ice Rink and others to explore the idea of building more ice facilities in the region, including a possible dedicated curling facility in Missoula.

Although we continue to accept responses to the survey, we thought we would share some of the initial responses from the nearly 200 current and former members as well as those interested in curling but who have not tried it.

First, the non-members. We found that most did not cite the cost of curling, but rather the times of the night we play and the general length and timing of the season.

Additionally, many of these people indicated they would be more inclined to join the league and perhaps play in multiple leagues if there were better times or a curling rink.

We also asked former members what it was that made them stop playing and, again, we heard more about timing, with most citing the game times and season schedule as the reason they left.
