Curling to Headline at PyeongChang Winter Olympics

Curling to Headline at PyeongChang Winter Olympics

The world’s best curlers are headed to South Korea for this year’s winter Olympics.

Curling is set to be one of the premier sports at this year’s games, with the addition of mixed doubles — teams of two men and two women — making its Olympic debut. The events are likely to draw millions of new viewers to the sport and here in Missoula we are ready to accommodate you (well, not millions, but a whole bunch).

The major event is February 17. That day at Glacier Ice Rink we, along with hockey and figure skating, will allow you to get out and try the sports for free.

Events run from 2-6 p.m. Curling will be on the outdoor rink and hockey and figure skating will be inside. Come out, watch or play and get some Olympic action of your own going.

More info on the event is available at Glacier’s web site.

Help at Our Olympic Learn to Curl

One of last season’s learn to curls…

February 17 Glacier Ice Rink is hosting a major Olympic event where people are invited to come and try the sports they have been watching on the television.

This includes hockey and figure skating on the indoor ice and four hours of folks learning to curl on the outside ice.

We are helping to grow this event and hopefully sign up new folks for the spring league, but we need your help.

Please check out the time slots and sign up to help. You don’t need to be an expert just willing to help to chip in.

See you on the ice.
