Curling Club Committees
The Missoula Curling Club is run by volunteers who give their time and expertise to keep the club thriving. Our committees are the engine behind everything from league play and bonspiels to youth programming, safety and the push for dedicated ice. Programming Committee — League
Plans, organizes and manages club leagues to provide a fun, fair and well-run curling experience for members.
Responsibilities include developing league formats, schedules and season calendars; coordinating registration and team formation; maintaining league rules and rosters; monitoring standings, playoffs and championships; resolving scheduling and gameplay issues; and maintaining league trophies and historical records.

Programming Committee — Membership
Grows and supports club membership by recruiting new curlers, enhancing the member experience and fostering an active volunteer community.
Responsibilities include recruiting and welcoming new members; coordinating membership registration and dues; planning Learn to Curl events and Open Curls; organizing member social activities; developing volunteer recruitment and recognition programs; tracking volunteer hours; and coordinating community outreach events.

Dedicated Ice / Capital Campaign Committee
Leads the planning, fundraising and community partnerships needed to build a dedicated curling facility for the club's future.
Responsibilities include developing the club's dedicated ice strategy; leading the capital fundraising campaign; cultivating donor and sponsor relationships; pursuing grants and funding opportunities; coordinating with city, county and community partners; developing facility operating and financial plans; evaluating potential facility locations; and keeping members informed on project progress.

Bonspiel Committee
Plans and delivers memorable bonspiels and tournaments that showcase the club while providing an outstanding experience for participants and volunteers.
Responsibilities include planning annual bonspiels and special events; developing event budgets and timelines; coordinating event registration and team communications; recruiting and scheduling volunteers; coordinating food, beverages and hospitality; managing raffles, auctions and fundraising activities; and obtaining necessary permits and insurance.

Youth Committee
Introduces young people to curling by developing youth programs, school partnerships and opportunities to grow the next generation of curlers.
Responsibilities include developing youth curling programs; partnering with schools and youth organizations; coordinating youth Learn to Curl events; recruiting coaches and volunteers; ensuring waivers and safety requirements are met; supporting youth teams and competitions; and seeking grants and partnerships that support youth programming.

Safety Committee
Promotes a safe curling environment by developing safety practices, maintaining equipment and encouraging safe participation on and off the ice.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining club safety policies; inspecting safety equipment regularly; ensuring first aid and emergency supplies are available; recommending facility safety improvements; coordinating incident reporting and follow-up; and providing safety education for members and volunteers.

Communications & Social Media Committee
Keeps members and the community informed by managing the club's communications, marketing, website and social media presence.
Responsibilities include managing the club website; maintaining social media accounts; publishing newsletters and member emails; promoting leagues, bonspiels and events; developing marketing campaigns; coordinating media relations; creating promotional materials; and promoting the club throughout the community.

Finance Committee
Oversees the club's financial health by developing budgets, monitoring finances and ensuring responsible stewardship of club resources.
Responsibilities include developing the annual operating budget; reviewing committee budget requests; monitoring monthly financial performance; assisting with long-term financial planning; monitoring cash reserves; reviewing fundraising and grant finances; recommending financial policies and internal controls; and supporting annual audits and financial reporting.

Operations Committee
Maintains the club's equipment and ice operations by coordinating ice installation, event setup, facility logistics and equipment upkeep.
Responsibilities include coordinating annual ice installation and removal; managing bonspiel ice setup and teardown; maintaining curling rocks, hacks, brooms and equipment; tracking equipment inventory and replacement needs; organizing storage and facility logistics; and recommending equipment and facility improvements.

Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee
Develops and implements fundraising and sponsorship strategies that provide sustainable financial support for the club's programs, operations and long-term goals.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing the club's annual fundraising plan; recruiting, cultivating and stewarding sponsors and donors; identifying and pursuing grant opportunities; coordinating annual fundraising campaigns and giving drives; developing sponsorship packages; organizing fundraising events; recognizing sponsors and donors; and tracking fundraising goals, sponsorship commitments and donor relationships.
