Updated December 2025
Missoula Curling is committed to being an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful home for every curler who comes through our doors. We believe that curling thrives when everyone has the opportunity to play, learn, and connect without fear of discrimination or exclusion. Missoula Curling stands firmly for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all of our programs.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
Missoula Curling welcomes people of all races, ethnicities, genders, gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, ages, religions, abilities, and other diverse backgrounds. We are strengthened by the diversity of our community, and we work to ensure that all curlers feel safe, supported, and valued.
We stand in full support of our transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQIA+ members. Every person belongs on our ice.
Participation and Gender Identity
Missoula Curling’s policies allow all curlers to participate in leagues, bonspiels, and club activities in alignment with their self-identified gender. This includes women’s and men’s leagues, mixed play, bonspiels, instructional programs, and social events.
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of sex, gender identity, or gender expression. Gender identity will be treated with the same respect as any other personal identity within our community.
Our Position on Recent USA Curling Policy Changes
In light of USA Curling’s updated transgender participation policy, Missoula Curling affirms that these changes do not alter our values or our practices. We do not support policies that exclude any curlers, including transgender curlers, from competition, and we will not enforce any such restrictions at the club level.
At Missoula Curling, you are a curler. That is all that matters.
The Spirit of Curling
The Spirit of Curling calls on all of us to act with respect, fairness, integrity, and kindness. These principles guide our inclusion efforts and shape our expectations for behavior on and off the ice. We expect every member, participant, volunteer, and guest to help us uphold an environment where all curlers feel safe, welcomed, and able to enjoy this sport fully.
Our Broader Values
We are committed to:
- Creating a safe and respectful environment for all people
- Ensuring equitable access to curling and club resources
- Calling out and addressing discrimination, bullying, harassment, and exclusion
- Reflecting the diversity of Missoula in our curling community
- Strengthening curling by ensuring everyone, regardless of identity, has a place on our ice
Missoula Curling believes that curling is, and must remain, a sport for everyone. If you are a curler, you are welcome here. Period.
