The Missoula Curling Club is a non-profit organization that aims to introduce people to the sport of curling as well as organize recreational and competitive leagues.

Curling slated to return in February December 19, 2020

groundhogWe at the club hope you are having a safe and fun (funnish, at least) holidays.

This month, the board has been talking with skips, Glacier Ice Rink and the County about how to launch curling safely and have decided, barring a sudden worsening of the situation, to launch in February.

The length of the league will be decided at our January board meeting and we will reach out to all of you soon after with information. We will likely start by playing on three sheets to allow even more social distancing and have developed other policies to minimize the risk to players.

We will start on February 6 and will be playing at 8pm, an hour earlier than previous seasons.

I took over as board president this summer (and I think I speak for all of us when we say a deep and heart-felt thanks to former president and still board member Barry Bollenbacher) and it has not been an easy time to try and keep Missoula's interest in curlling up, but we have a plan and with your help we will bring curling back to Missoula in February and have some fun on the ice again.

Again, have a great holidays and look for more information about the winter league in early January.

Good curling to you and yours,

Lee Banville

Club Announces Return to Curling Rules August 11, 2020

We are beginning to plan for a return to curling that promotes safe play and social distancing. The Club has been working with USA Curling to develop plans to combat COVID that we have begun to outline on a new site.

In the coming weeks, we will be announcing playing options that offer flexibility and affordability -- two things we have heard from you are important this season -- for you all.

Headgear Options November 06, 2019

As we kick off this brand-new season of curling some people have been asking about the curling safety gear that players, including myself, have been wearing. I have seen multiple players receive concussions from impacts with the ice. Speaking as someone who has had loved one have to deal with TBI, I can tell you that the brain is a delicate thing. Protect what you got!

Here are a few head gear options to check out. I know there are other options available, but I wanted to send links to safety gear that I have seen our membership wearing on the ice. I'm sure that I can speak for the other players out there, I would be more than happy to show you what I wear so you could check it out, first hand, some of these options.
